Applications:
Diamond tools cutting
- The cutting profile must be a curve with different flank inclinations.
- Before cutting, the stone has to be seen from the top and the bottom in order to define the best cutting area.
- The visual system will also give the exact position of the stone for the cutting work.
- The Z position for the start of the cutting has to be automised.
Solutions:
- A granite table construction with a granite gantry for the laser resonator.
- The laser is a diode pumped Nd:YAG laser with outstanding beam quality and pulse power.

- The system is equipped with a double camera systems,
one to the top of the stone and one to the bottom
of the stone.
- The camera systems are calibrated in order to have an adjusted field of view.
- The image of both cameras appear on the CNC commanding screen and allows the user to position the stone with the cutting profile in its cutting position on the stone.
- A sensor will transmit the Z position of the stone to the commanding CNC program in order to start cutting the stone in its focal point.
- By selecting the top and bottom image with the cutting profile projected on the same CNC commanding screen it is possible to select the best cutting area without the risk of not cutting into the stone.
Benefits:
- An automatic machine that will cut the profile of 10 diamond tools in one work session with micrometric precision.
